Momoa’s screen presence sure doesn’t seem to be slowing down, between roles in the upcoming Netflix movie slumberlandThe The Fast and the Furious sequel X is fastand more. In a recent interview with Entertainment tonight Strengthen slumberlandMomoa revealed how the film fulfilled a tradition he has for each of his films – creating a playlist of songs to listen to on set. While the playlist apparently contained some ’80s favorites, including Dexys Midnight Runners’ “Come on Eileen,” as well as some new songs.
“Yes, we did [have a dance-off]Momoa revealed. We danced to Dua Lipa. It was a group of the eighties in the group. We had some benatar pate. We had some Def Leppard, we had some Mötley Crüe. Billy Idol”.

slumberland It takes audiences to a magical new place, a dream world where Nemo (Marlo Barclay) and her eccentric companion (Jason Momoa) embark on the adventure of a lifetime. After her father Peter (Kyle Chandler) is unexpectedly lost at sea, Nemo’s idyllic existence in the Pacific Northwest is completely upended when she’s sent to live in the city with her well-meaning but deeply awkward Uncle Philip (Chris O’Dowd). Her new school and new routine are challenging by day, but by night, a secret map of the fictional world of Slumberland connects Nemo with Flip, a lovable outlaw who quickly becomes her partner and mentor. She and Flip soon find themselves on an incredible journey traversing dreams and escaping nightmares, as Nemo begins to hope that she and her father will be reunited again.

Momoa explained, “I have to tell you, playing this role has opened up a lot of things for me.” In a recent interview with People.com. “I actually got to watch it with my kids yesterday and with Marlowe and her family. It’s weird when you’re watching your own stuff. It just blew me away, and I was so emotional. The role has allowed me to be really liberating, and the character is so much fun.”
slumberland It will premiere on Netflix on Friday, November 18th.
